After a long time and lots of rumors in the last days, Microsoft finally confirmed Project Scorpio specifications. The specifications are “monster”! Please see below to get you hyped

  • GPU: 16nm Polaris-derived GPU 40 Compute Units at 1172MHz
  • CPU: 8-core “evolved” Jaguar CPU at 2.3GHz
  • Memory: 12GB GDDR5 memory

The 8-Core CPU is jagurar which is focused on latency and coordination with GPU.

6 TFLOPs of power with 40 compute untits.
Frequency of 1172 Mhz (around 27% increase) increase from 914Mhz which is inside xbox one S!
4.6x more powerful than xbox one.

Project Scorpio memory has amazing bandwidth. 326 GB/s! Increase from 219 GB/s (49%).

We know that is still 94Mhz less than RX 480 PC card, so hopefully we will se some room improvement in the future.

Digital Foundry’s Richard Leadbetter comments:

“The GPU is a beast. It’s very, very fast,”, “This is unprecedented,” & “Hardware usually defines software. This time the Microsoft team could approach things from the other direction, optimizing the silicon based on the way the game engines and game developers actually are creating their games.”

More can be heard on below video. Hope you like final Project Scorpio Specifications as much as we do.
